An outstanding old Mexican mask. A king or similar and probably part of an Easter celebration. Great wear inside and out. Much of the old and touch-up paint is thick and flaking off but enough remains to maintain his character. This mask still has its leather cords - not the earliest original ones but these were used as well to dance this mask.
Note that the depth of this mask is 6" at the top of his nose - very dimensional. In excellent antique condition with paint wear and one notable age split to the wood inside but it is stable and sturdy.
