A charming original painting on paper by Barbara Strawser. This is a “Peaceable Kingdom” scene in water colors (perhaps gouache) on paper.

Antique Madonna oil on panel
Purchased in Austria, a very old oil painting on panel. Although this was done sometime later, the painting is Gothic in feel and style with the elongated fingers, gold highlights, pearls and pale white faces common in that period. I believe this is at least could be 18th century. The paint is rather thickly applied. Similarly, the spotted background you see is all raised paint. Framed in an old wooden frame that is not period to the piece but it suits it. The painting is approximately 8 5/8″ tall x 6″ wide. The frame, 11″ x 8 1/4.” The painting is in very good condition with wear appropriate to its age. The frame has dings and paint loss.
