A beautiful old basket with a wonderful dark patina. Several experts have placed this basket from California, either Washoe or perhaps Mono Lake and all have said its from the first quarter of the 20th century. It’s a lovely thing and a rather rare basket. It measures about 3 1/4″ deep by about 10 1/4″ wide at the rim. It is in good antique condition with some small areas of damage to the rim. A few wraps in the top row are broken and a very few, missing, and the top two rods have broken in one place. Pretty minimal damage for its age. It is not fragile if handled carefully.
